The French call me Charles, even though I don’t go by that name. I am currently an English language teaching assistant in Sainte-Menehould, France, a beautiful town of around 4,600 people, according to Wikipedia and my initial observations.

My plans for this page are threefold. First, I want to keep my friends and family up to date as I spend the better part of a year in a foreign country. Second, I need a place to unleash my constant commentary on the world around me; I am loaded with opinions, and I might explode if I don’t have a place to vent them all. Most of them are probably wrong, though I always try to support my arguments with as objective as possible data.

Finally, I want this blog to be fun, a place where I can post an item or a piece of writing that I get a kick out of, with hopes that someone else will, too.

Welcome/Bienvenue, stick around for awhile.
